Your advisors can show a customer round
Store advisors are back. From the adviser console, an advisor can start a session of their own and send a customer the link: they lead, the customer sees what they show, and on Starter and Growth it doesn't count towards your plan's shopping sessions. What the customer buys is credited to that advisor.

A product’s details without leaving the room
Tapping a product in the room’s panel now opens it over the room: the photographs, the price, the sizes and colours, the description, and a button that adds it to the cart. Friends deciding between four things no longer have to leave the room to remember which was which, and “Open the full page” is still there for whoever wants the whole thing.

Saved projects, where the shopping happens
A shopper’s saved projects are now one tap from the room, behind a button in the corner of the panel, rather than four taps down a settings menu. Several can be open at once, each as its own list, and whatever was already on the table becomes a list too instead of sitting loose. Quantities and removals in a shopper’s own cart can be made from the same panel.

Two projects, one list
Friends who each opened a saved project into the same room can now put the two together: merge one into the other, or add them up into a new list holding everything from both. Whoever else owns one of them is asked before it happens, and either of them can undo it for ten minutes afterwards.

The invite prompt says what you write
Your own words are now the whole of what the prompt says, rather than a paragraph above three lines of ours. The box keeps your line breaks and makes a list out of a line that starts with a dash, the “Learn more” link is yours to switch off, and how long a shopper who says no is left alone — a week until now — is a choice: every session, hour, day, week, month or year.

Two shoppers, one project
Friends in a room now build a shared project as they browse: either of them adds a product from its page, either can take one away, and each takes their own copy into their own cart when they are ready. Nothing is bought until somebody buys it. On for every shop; the switch is in Configuration.

A project that keeps until next time
A kitchen, a wedding, a birthday list - shopping that takes weeks rather than an afternoon. On the Growth plan a shopper can save what a room chose, open it again days later on any device they use Friendzy on, and email themselves a copy. Anything the shop has stopped selling is marked when the project is opened, rather than quietly dropped.

A session that survives a server going quiet
Friendzy runs in more than one region, and a shop belongs to one of them. When that region stops answering, a shopping session now moves itself to another rather than failing: both friends move the same way, in the same order, so they stay in the room together. The room starts again on the new server, and the move lasts until the shopper closes the tab. Nothing to switch on.

Friendzy’s settings are in the admin now
Every setting is in Configuration › Customer experience now: how hard Friendzy suggests itself, what the invite says, the button in the corner, the theme, the colours. The theme app extension is one switch, and it says so.

See your colours before you save them
The colour fields now sit beside a preview of the panel a shopper actually opens - the top bar, both kinds of chat bubble and a button. A brand colour too pale for the white text it carries says so, instead of you finding out on your storefront.

Shoppers get Friendzy in the language they are reading
The starting language used to be one dropdown for the whole store. Now a shopper gets the language of the page they are standing on, which your markets already decide - so a French market reads French. Spanish is on the list too, which the old dropdown never offered.

Configuration is four sections, not seven
Who sees Friendzy, Your Friendzy button and Shopping together were one decision split three ways, so they sit together in Customer experience, each under its own heading. Rewards, Store advisors and Privacy follow it. The CSS fields that fit Friendzy around your theme left Privacy too - they describe what a shopper sees, not what stays private.

Setup finishes when your storefront says so
The last step used to ask whether you had switched Friendzy on. Now it checks your storefront, and finishes only once it can see Friendzy running there. It also links to Friendzy Appearance, which the theme editor leaves out of the list when you arrive from the other link.

Tell shoppers when your store answers
Store advisors have working hours now, set per weekday. Inside them a shopper is offered someone from the store; outside them the same button offers a friend instead, so nobody is left waiting on a person who is not there.

Friendzy's looks now live in one place
The theme editor has two Friendzy app embeds: Friendzy Introduction for the language, the corner button and how strongly Friendzy suggests itself, and Friendzy Appearance for everything about how it looks - the theme, the colour scheme, the shape and typeface, your own colours, and the launch button. Appearance comes with Starter, so your colours are no longer a Growth feature. One thing to do: the starting theme and colour scheme moved between embeds, so they are back at Light and Classic. Set them again in Friendzy Appearance if you had changed them.

The invite waits for a shopper to hesitate
It used to fire when they added to the cart - by then they had decided, and a friend arriving at that moment is as likely to talk them out of it. Now it waits for the shopper who read the page, looked at the pictures and still has not added it. That is the moment a friend answers.

Invited shoppers can sign in with Shop
Shop now sits above Facebook and Google: it is the account a shopper already has on your store, so an invited friend has one less reason to stop. Nothing to set up - it appears on stores with customer accounts on.

Nothing of ours in the corner of your store
Friendzy no longer adds a button to the corner: most stores already have a chat button there, and two is one too many. Shoppers find Friendzy from the Ask a friend button beside Add to cart, which is now on. If you want the corner button, turn it on in your theme editor.

Set up in one click
“Auto-configure for me” in Onboarding fills in the recommended settings and leaves you only to turn Friendzy on.
September 25, 2026
Configuration, in plain words
Six sections, each saying what it is set to, so you can see everything at a glance. Rewards read as sentences, and the technical theme settings are folded away.

Friendzy updates on Wednesdays
Updates now go out at one known time - Wednesdays, 03:00 UTC, for up to fifteen minutes. Friendzy tells you an hour beforehand, in your own time zone, so a quiet admin at three in the morning is expected rather than alarming.
September 22, 2026
Home tells you what's working
A flight check of the five things Friendzy needs - the app embed, our side, your plan, a reward, and whether anyone has shopped together here - each one green, amber or red.

Someone from your store can join a shopping session
Shoppers browsing together can now ask for a store advisor. Your staff answer from {domain} rather than from here, and see the page the shopper is looking at. It stays off until you turn it on.
September 22, 2026
This admin now speaks German, Spanish, French and Romanian
Friendzy follows whatever language your Shopify admin is in, for you and for anyone on your staff. There is nothing to set.

Shoppers can keep an account with Google or Facebook
A shopper who signs in keeps their name and picture between visits, so the friend they invite knows who they are shopping with. Shopper accounts are part of the Growth plan.
